This new 214,000 ft² two-story high school has been built with regular composite decking as well as the Reveal Series roof decks, RS2.0A – acoustic version, and RS3.5.
The acoustic version minimizes the sound, an important feature for the school gymnasium. Two complex open web joist girders as well as joists complete the structure. As the ceiling is visible, it has been painted white to give it an aesthetics look and to prevent corrosion.
The Philip Simmons High School focuses on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics to prepare students for high-tech careers in the neighboring companies such as Volvo and BP.
